Portraits: seeing and being seen
A portrait is a quiet conversation of seeing and being seen. In this slow exchange people begin to relax, opening their faces to me through shifting layers of distrust, curiosity, playfulness, pain, longing. I strive to convey these layers and the spirit within them. When I look into a face or draw a body, I recognize the experience of being human in my own bones and muscles. At the same time, I am reminded that the full complexity of another person is unfathomable. This mystery and awe is what fills a portrait with life.
What is it to be really seen?
Capture a moment, celebrate a milestone, or honor a transition with a portrait of you or your loved one.
